Morning & Evening Daily Devotional Reading– May 13

“Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

—Psalm 30:5

Christian! If you are in a night of trial, think of the morning. Cheer your heart with the thought that your Lord is coming back for you. Be patient! The Farmer waits until He reaps His harvest. He’s the One who told us, “I come quickly, and my reward is with me to reward every every man according as his work.”

Your head may be crowned with thorny troubles now, but it will wear a starry crown before long; your hand may be filled with cares now, but it will soon pluck the strings of Heaven’s harp. Your garments may be soiled with dust now, but they will be white soon; so wait a little longer. How small our troubles and trials will seem when we look back upon them! Right now they may seem huge, but later they will seem like light and momentary afflictions.

Now matter how it seems to you now, let’s go on boldly; even if the night has never been so dark, the morning is coming which is more than can be said by those who are shut up in the darkness of hell. Do you know how to live in light of the future– to live in expectation of Heaven?

Dear believer, it may be dark now. Your trials may seem too many, too severe, and far too long. Your “weeping may endure for a night,” but take heart! Joy will come to you in the morning?” [M&E]
