Today let’s hear the Lord Jesus say to each one of us: “I will help you. After all, it’s only a small thing for Me to help you. Consider what I have done already. Do you think that I haven’t helped you to this point? Before the world began I chose you. I made a covenant for you. I laid aside My glory and become man for you. I bought you with My blood. I’ve died for you. And, if I have done things this great for you, won’t I help you with the smaller things as well?

In helping you I am giving you what I have bought for you already. If you needed a thousand times as much help, I would give it you; you require little compared to what I am able to give. Think of it this way; if there were an ant at your table asking for food, it wouldn’t ruin you to give him a few crumbs, would it? You are nothing but a tiny insect at the door of My all-sufficiency, and ‘I will help you.'”

Do you need more strength than the Almighty power of the Triune God? Do you want more wisdom than exists in the Father, more love than displays itself in the Son, or more power than is made known in the Holy Spirit?

If your pitcher is empty, bring it to God! Surely His great well will fill it. Hurry! Gather your needs, and bring them here—your emptiness, your troubles, your desires. The river of God is full and can supply all you need.
